Recycling is confusing.
I am here to fix that.

Many people don't know what items should be recycled and what items shouldn't.

There will be a game at the end designed to test your recycling skills. Hopefully you will have some fun and save the environment at the same time.

#1: Look for the symbol**:

This sign is the most obvious, yet there are still things you need to watch out for.

Most plastic containers have an icon that implies it can be recycled, yet it may not be recyclable in your area.

In the case of San Ramon, California (ACI), plastics between Type 1-7 are accepted, but this is not the case everywhere else.

#2: Check the material:

There are materials that can be recycled, and many that you do not recycle.

Recyclable

  • Paper ๐Ÿ“„
  • Cardboard ๐Ÿ“ฆ
  • Glass Bottles/Jars (no lid) ๐Ÿพ
  • Aluminum/Metal ๐Ÿฅซ
  • Plastics (Type 1-7 mentioned above) ๐Ÿฅค

NOT Recyclable

  • Styrofoam
  • Garbage (Oil/Diapers/Dirt/Bricks) ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ๐Ÿงฑ
  • Pet Waste ๐Ÿ’ฉ
  • Pressurized Tanks/Flammable ๐Ÿงฏโ›ฝ
  • Needles ๐Ÿ’‰๐Ÿงท
  • Hazardous Waste โ˜ข๏ธ

Check your knowledge:

Click the correct bin corresponding to the item.
